Abstract:To investigate the degradation effect of mechanical properties of hydraulic concrete under dry and wet conditions in the Honggang New River Remediation Project. The macro and micro mechanical tests were designed on concrete specimens under different drying and wetting times. The experimental results show that the drying time and confining pressure have greater effects on the strain characteristics of the specimens than those of the wetting time. The stress of the sample decreases with the longer drying time or soaking time, but the drying time produces a higher stress degradation effect than that of the wetting time. The pores on the damaged surface of the sample within the particle structure with different drying time, while the pore characteristics of the particle contact surface are mainly influenced by the wetting time. This study provides a reference for exploring the differences in the effects of drying and wetting paths on the mechanical testing for the hydraulic concrete.
