Abstract:In order to reveal the temporal and spatial evolution characteristics of habitat quality in Liaohe river basin, based on the land use data of 2000, 2010 and 2020, this paper adopts InVEST model to study the habitat quality and its degradation in the three phases of Liaohe river basin. The results show that the main land use types in Liaohe river basin from 2000 to 2020 are forest land, followed by cultivated land and construction land and waters. The area of forest land and cultivated land showed a decreasing trend, and the construction land showed an increasing trend, and the mutual transformation among those three was obvious. From the spatial perspective, Liaohe river basin presented the spatial distribution characteristics of high habitat quality in northwest and low habitat quality in southeast. The highest proportion of high quality habitat was above 65%. The habitat degradation was of higher degree in southeast and lower degree in northwest. The average habitat quality index of the three phases was 0.783, 0.777 and 0.770, respectively. From the perspective of time, the habitat quality showed a gradual decline trend, but the overall change was little. On the other hand, the degradation of habitat quality aggravated and spreaded to the northwest.
