Reservoir operation is a key method to solve flood control and disaster reduction and improve efficient utilization of water resources without changing the scale of reservoir project. In recent years,there have been frequent droughts in Jiangxi province. In order to coordinate the contradiction between the power generation efficiency of the reservoir and the basic production,living and ecological water demand,the Luntan reservoir of Jiangxi province is taken as an example to give full play to the beneficial regulation functions of the reservoir such as irrigation,industry,living,ecology and power generation. Agricultural irrigation water,residential water,industrial water and basic ecological flow demand of river are transformed into rigid constraints,and particle swarm intelligent algorithm is used to find the optimal reservoir scheduling scheme with the best power generation benefit.
