Based on the principles of systematicness，independence and ease of operation，combined with the status and characteristics of lake health problems in Jiangxi province，the evaluation indexes were screened and optimized，and the health evaluation indicator system of Saicheng Lake in Jiujiang city was constructed. In addition，the health assessment of Saicheng Lake was carried out in 2021，and the sampling monitoring and data analysis were carried out from the five criteria layers of hydrology and water resources，physical structure，chemistry，biology and social service function. The main conclusions are as follows：（1）with the good health status of sustainable development，the comprehensive health index of Saicheng Lake was evaluated as 79.25，although the function of the lake is damaged to some extent.（2）the hydrological water resources and physical structure of Saicheng Lake were evaluated as full marks，the social service function was evaluated as 85.49 points，the biological integrity was evaluated as 74.76 points，and the chemical aspect was evaluated as 52.86 points.（3）the main factors affecting the overall health status of Saicheng Lake are the "EI nutritional status index" and the "heavy metal pollution in sediment". It could provide reference for the construction of ecological civilization in Jiujiang city，and the investigation and evaluation of river and lake health carried in other parts of Jiangxi province.
