Abstract:The measure of undergrowth grass can effectively control soil and water loss and non-point source pollution in orchard.In this study,artemisia argyi(Artemisia argyiLevl.et Van),portulaca oleracea(Portulaca oleracea L)and white clover(Trifolium repens)were used as research objects to monitor the characteristics of sediment yield on slope under natural rainfall conditions,and to study the effects of different grass growing measures on soil and water loss and nitrogen loss in navel orange orchard.The results showed that planting artemisia argyi,purslane oleracea and white clover under navel orange garden could effectively reduce the surface runoff and sediment yield,with average runoff reduced by 37.87%,41.97% and 61.79%,respectively,and average sediment yield decreased by 63.30%,67.36% and 89.61%,respectively.There was no significant difference between artemisia argyi and portulaca oleracea,and white clover had the best effect.Under the same fertilization conditions,white clover had the best control effect on nitrogen loss,followed by artemisia argyi.Different sod culture measures can reduce soil and water loss and nitrogen loss in orchard,and strip grass planting in sloping orchard is a feasible grass growing pattern.
