The construction of concrete cutoff wall on deep overburden pervious foundation is a key problem in dealing with this kind of foundation because of its complex stress conditions. Therefore,it is necessary to understand the influencing factors of the working characteristics of the cutoff wall.Aiming at the problem of thick overburden layer and local karst voids in the embankment foundation of a certain project,Goodman element is used to simulate the contact between the cut-off wall and the soil.Considering the actual construction progress and impoundment and infiltration, the influence of the difference of elastic modulus of concrete on the stress and deformation of the cut-off wall is studied by finite element numerical calculation method. The results show that the rigid cut-off wall has obvious tension stress zone, and the plastic wall can maintain a good stress state. The horizontal displacement of the cut-off wall is less affected by the elastic modulus, and the vertical settlement decreases with the increase of the elastic modulus.
