The Kizi river is an inland river in Xinjiang.It was one of the headwaters of the Tarim river in history.The Kizi river is the largest river in the Kashgar river basin and the main source of the Kashgar river basin into the Tarim river.However，since the beginning of the last century，it has been discontinued and lost its hydraulic connection with the Tarim river.By the beginning of this century，the old river in the lower reaches of the Jiashi river has lost its function and the ecology on both sides of the river has been declining.Based on the investigation and analysis of the current situation of the ancient channel state，this paper puts forward some measures for opening water to the ancient channel，releasing ecological water sources，and restoring the ecological environment on both sides of the channel，so as to provide a reference for promoting the comprehensive management of the ancient channel.
