Based on spot investigation and informal exchange with the department of water conservancy and environmental protection in America and Mexico，basic experience of hydraulic engineering construction and water ecology protection in these two countries has been combed.In addition，some enlightenment has been proposed from aspects on comprehensively promoting integrated management of Poyang Lake Basin，paying attention to hydraulic model test，realizing water ecological monitoring and improving scientific researching model of water conservancy.It could provide reference for realizing healthy and green development of Poyang Lake.
