With the continuous implementation of Changshu “smooth flow of water” project planning，Changshu city，gradually completed the backbone of water system connected control system，and then comprehensively enhance the main city of flood control，drainage capacity.In this paper，the Changhu river project of Changshu city as an example，describes its urban flood control as the backbone of the importance of the project，and through the project site，gate and pump selection，analyzes the scientific rationality，for the future implementation of other similar projects to provide reference.
