Abstract:Centipedegrass (Eremochloa ophiuroides) is an excellent warm-season grass with combination the functions of lawn utilization, pasture and ecological slope protection. However, Centipedegrass has not been widely used in China; one of the most reasons is that the reproduction technique, both the sexual propagation and asexual propagation were not studied well. In this paper, we briefly reviewed the main reproduction technique of Centipedegrass, including sexual propagation (involving seed germination and the characteristics of sexual reproduction and its variation) and asexual propagation (involving turf reproduction, stem propagation and lawn nursery strip), and analyzed their major advantages and disadvantages.
