Abstract:Silt content is an important indicator for measuring the quality of concrete coarse and fine aggregates, if exceeding the standard limits, it will directly affect the performance of concrete mixture and concrete strength. This paper takes the actual application of coarse and fine aggregates into consideration and compares the differences of general standards in the regulation for silt content in both aggregates. In specification to that the silt content in coarse/fine aggregate in construction site can exceeds the limits, through test comparisons it’s proposed to add the values together. The paper can be of certain help to similar problems in future projects.
